Closed-end Funds

Contrary to open-end funds, the shares of which can be acquired without time limit, potential investors may acquire shares of closed-end funds only within a given time-frame. When this deadline has elapsed and the necessary capital was raised the fund is closed and admission is no longer possible. Closed-end funds can invest in real estate, ships, airplanes, but also for example in renewable energy. The shareholders usually hold an entrepreneurial participation, but in most cases have little influence on the management and administration of the fund.

We help our clients to make the best and most sensible use of their shareholders’ rights or – if that does not seem to be sufficient – to terminate their position as shareholders prematurely.
